Playground Players Complete Successful Tour of The True Story of Cinderella

In summer 2005, Nancy Curvin Playground Players completed their eighth summer season of touring area playgrounds, recreation departments, day care centers and senior citizen facilities. The summer's production, The True Story of Cinderella, was directed by Emily McAdoo and Christopher Fanning, from Geneva. Photos from Rehearsal and Tour

The True Story of Cinderella, by children’s playwright Richard Conlon, is a contemporary retelling of the classic fairy tale. In this version,  the stepsisters tell the story and as it turns out it was not the stepsisters who were evil, but it was Cinderella who victimized herself.  In this hilarious romp through the story it is the stepsisters and stepmother, who poses as Cinderella’s fairy godmother, who help Cinderella find her less than perfect prince.

The Curvin Players was performed in Ontario, Wayne, and Seneca Counties, at the following locations:

  • July 13, Geneva Recreation Department, Geneva Living Center North and South;
  • July 14, Candy Apple Day Care, Newark;
  • July 18, Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES;
  • July 19, Geneva Lakefront Child Center;
  • July 20, Ashton Place, Clifton Springs and The Geneva Lakefront Concert Series;
  • July 21, Adult Day Care in Geneva;
